Peroxiredoxin 1: Lysates

Peroxiredoxins make up a family of highly conserved peroxidases well known for their anti-oxidant properties. In this capacity they may be involved in the protection of cells from oxidative stress. They have roles as modulators of signal transduction, transcription, and apoptosis. To date, 6 family members have been described in mammals (peroxiredoxin 1 through 6). Peroxiredoxins are further subclassified based on the position of cysteine residues that are involved in catalysis (1-Cys, 2-Cys, and atypical 2-Cys).
