SLURP1: Proteins and Enzymes
Secreted Ly-6/uPAR-related protein 1 (SLURP1) is a secreted member of the Ly-6/uPAR protein superfamily. Like other members of the Ly-6/uPAR family, SLURP1 contains a Ly-6/uPAR domain (aa #24-73) and ten cysteine residues that make up five disulfide bonds. Unlike other family members, however, SLURP1 does not contain a GPI anchor. In humans, SLURP1 is involved in maintaining the integrity of the kerotinocyte layers of the skin, and has demonstrated antitumor activity.
