Scientific Data Images for Human Haptoglobin Antibody

Human Haptoglobin Antibody in ELISA Standard Curve.

Human Haptoglobin ELISA Standard Curve.

Recombinant Human Haptoglobin protein was serially diluted 2-fold and captured by Mouse Anti-Human Haptoglobin Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB8465) coated on a Clear Polystyrene Microplate (Catalog # DY990). Goat Anti-Human/Mouse Haptoglobin Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF8465) was biotinylated and incubated with the protein captured on the plate. Detection of the standard curve was achieved by incubating Streptavidin-HRP (Catalog # DY998) followed by Substrate Solution (Catalog # DY999) and stopping the enzymatic reaction with Stop Solution (Catalog # DY994).

Applications for Human Haptoglobin Antibody

Application
Recommended Usage

ELISA

This antibody functions as an ELISA capture antibody when paired with Goat Anti-Human/Mouse Haptoglobin Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF8465).

This product is intended for assay development on various assay platforms requiring antibody pairs. We recommend the Human Haptoglobin DuoSet ELISA Kit (Catalog # DY8465-05) for convenient development of a sandwich ELISA or the Human Haptoglobin Quantikine ELISA Kit (Catalog # DHAPG0) for a complete optimized ELISA.

Please Note: Optimal dilutions of this antibody should be experimentally determined.

Background: Haptoglobin

Haptoglobin is a 406 aminoacids (aa) protein that in humans is encoded by the HP gene. This gene encodes a preproprotein that is processed into alpha (aa 19-160) and beta (aa 162-406) chains that combine as a tetramer to produce haptoglobin. Haptoglobin captures, and combines with free plasma hemoglobin to allow hepatic recycling of heme iron and to prevent kidney damage.
