CNIH3: Proteins and Enzymes
Belonging to the cornichon family, cornichon homolog 3 (CNIH3) is a common ancestor of eukaryotes. Its main function is to regulate the trafficking and gating properties of AMPA-selective glutamate receptors (AMPARs). CNIH3 can be found in a complex with GRIA1, GRIA2, GRIA3, GRIA4, CNIH2, CACNG2, CACNG3, CACNG4, CACNG5, CACNG7 and CACNG8. It also regulates the activation, deactivation and desensitization of the cell membrane and synapses.
