DSCAM-L1: Proteins and Enzymes
DSCAM-L1 is a type I transmembrane Ig superfamily glycoprotein that is predominantly expressed in Purkinje cells and neurons of the cerebral cortex and olfactory bulb. DSCAM-L1 mediates cell adhesion by cation-independent homophilic interactions. It may function in the formation and maintenance of neural networks and play a role in neuronal disorders such as Gilles de la Tourette and Jacobsen syndromes.
