HIN-1/SCGB3A1: Proteins and Enzymes
HIN-1 (High-In-Normal-1) is a small, 8-kDa, leucine-rich member of the secretoglobin family of molecules. It is so named because of its abundance in normal mammary epithelium and down-regulation in breast cancer. HIN-1 is a secreted, 84 amino acid cytokine that possibly exists as a disulfide-linked homodimer. It serves as a marker for secretory cell subsets in the respiratory tract.
