TAS2R42: Lysates
The TAS2R42 gene encodes a 314 amino acid long, 36 kDA taste receptor type 2 member 42 protein that obtains the ability to identify the perception of bitterness as it obtains the capabilities of tasting glucosinolates. Additionally, it is thought that this receptor can stimulate alpha gustducin in order to mediate PLC-beta-2 activation. In doing so, it assists the gating of TRPM5. Therefore, the TAS2R41 gene participates in taste transduction and is known to interact with gene GNAT3.
