Background: CHD4

CHD4/Mi2beta is a helicase component of the nucleosome remodeling and deacetylase (NuRD) complex that functions to remodel chromatin and repress transcription. Outside of the NuRD complex, CHD4/Mi2beta can function as an activator of transcription in association with p300 histone acetyltransferase. Alternate names for CHD4/Mi2beta include chromodomain-helicase-DNA-binding protein 4, CHD-4, ATP-dependent helicase CHD4, Mi-2 autoantigen 218 kDa protein, Mi2-beta, Mi-2b, and DKFZp686E06161.

Alternate Names

ATP-dependent helicase CHD4, CHD-4, chromodomain helicase DNA binding protein 4, chromodomain-helicase-DNA-binding protein 4, DKFZp686E06161, EC 3.6.1, EC 3.6.4.12, Mi-2 autoantigen 218 kDa protein, Mi-2b, Mi2-beta
