Flow (Intracellular): Sirtuin 1/SIRT1 Antibody (1F3) [Allophycocyanin] [NBP1-51641APC] - An intracellular stain was performed on RAW 246.7 cells with Sirtuin 1/SIRT1 Antibody (1F3) NBP1-51641APC (blue) and a matched isotype control (orange). Cells were fixed with 4% PFA and then permeablized with 0.1% saponin. Cells were incubated in an antibody dilution of 2.5 ug/mL for 30 minutes at room temperature. Both antibodies were conjugated to Allophycocyanin.

Background: Sirtuin 1/SIRT1

The S. cerevisiae silent information regulator 2 (Sir2) protein is an NAD+-dependent histone deacetylase (HDACs) that plays a critical role in transcriptional silencing, genome stability, and longevity (1-2). Part of the Sirtuin family (Sir2, Sir3, Sir3), yeast Sir2 is the founding member of Class III HDACs. A human homologue of Sir2 , SIRT1, regulates the activity of the p53 tumor suppressor and inhibits apoptosis (3-4).

Long Name

Silent Mating Type Information Regulation 2 Homolog

Alternate Names

SIR2-like protein 1, SIR2alpha, SIR2L1, SIRT1

Gene Symbol

SIRT1
