IL-35: Proteins and Enzymes

IL-35 (Interleukin 35) is an immunosuppressive IL-12 family heterodimeric cytokine that contains a p35 subunit and the EBI3 subunit. It is secreted by Treg and effector T cells and functions through IL-12 R beta 2 and gp130. IL-35 can suppress effector T cell proliferation, inhibit Th17 cell development, and promote the conversion of T cells and B cells into regulatory T and B cells, respectively. It also functions as a regulator of tumor growth.
