MORC4: Proteins and Enzymes

The MORC4 gene encodes a MORC family CW-type zinc finger protein 4 that exists in three isoforms: isoform 1: 937 amino acids long, 106 kDA; isoform 2: 648 amino acids long, 74 kDA; and isoform 3: 900 amino acids long, 101 kDA. The MORC4 gene is frequently found in low concentrations in normal tissues and elevated levels in placenta and testis. The protein encoded by this gene functions in nuclear matrix binding domains and a two-stranded coiled-coil motif near the C-terminus. MORC4 interacts with genes SKIL, STAT3, UBC, PRKAA1, and GEMIN4. It has been linked to large b-cell lymphoma.
